Things I wish I Knew in College

  1. Make Friends
    1. The friends you make in college will be your life long friends! It’s harder to make friends after you finish school (or for me at least). Get to know your classmates, roommates, dorm mates!
  2. Be Safe
    1. You’ll meet so many people in college. Those who will have a positive influence in your life and others who may not. For the ones who may not, be safe with your actions! Sometimes you will make choices that impulsive and regretful. Make sure that whatever you do, be safe about it. All in all, surround yourself with positive people.
  3. You don’t have to stick to your original major
    1. You are not obligated to stick with your major. Along the way, if you feel like it’s not right for you, change your major. Don’t stick to something that you don’t like. It will be more difficult in the future when you begin your career. Take a broad range of classes to find your passion.
  4. It’s not a race to finish
    1. You can finish in 5 years, or 6, or even 7. It’s not a race of who can finish their education first. Go at your own pace. Don’t rush finishing either. These are the days you cannot take back once you start “adulting”.
  5. Learn as much as you can- dont skip class… Study!
    1. Knowledge is power. If you (or someone) is paying for your classes, utilize the opportunity to learn (or even review) something. I’d rather be in class to learn than sleeping. Knowledge is something so powerful that no one can take away from you. Study and take your classes seriously!

20th Anniversary Tamagotchi Review

I’ve always wanted toc! I remember having a knock off brand as a kid. When I heard that they are releasing Tamagotchi’s for their 20th anniversary, it was a must have! Here is my review for the 20th Anniversary of the Tamagotchi.

I bought mine at Barnes and Nobles for $14.99. It came in 6 different colors:

I ended up getting the dark pink one for myself and the white one for my husband.

The Tamagotchi was much smaller than I expected. Though it is 20% smaller than the original, it still packs a punch.

The buttons were easy to press and the size allowed me to hang on my bag, or belt without it being too bulky.

When I first opened the box, there was a slip I had to pull to create the egg. This is the highlight of my Tamagotchi – after the slip was pulled, an egg rolled out and it started pulsing! I remember waiting minutes – which felt like hours, watching and waiting for my Tamagotchi to hatch!

Once it hatched, an eggling bounced onto the screen. Pretty soon I was able to feed and give it snacks/water. There;s three basic buttons on the Tamagotchi . From left to right, A, B, and C.

Pressing A will allow you to feed your pet. B confirns the action. Pressing B by itself shows you the time. C is cancel.

What’s nice is that I was able to put my Ta magotchi on silent so I can bring to work. To do this, hold down A and C. Every once in a while, I would check on it without hearing a loud beep. My Tamagotchi evolved to three stages. Midway though the last stage, I got bored of my Tamagotchi. I left my Tamagotchi unattended for a day and the next time I checked, it had a skull and a cross.

Overall, if I had a Tamagotchi as a kid, I definitely would be more in tuned with the toy. It’s great that they decide to bring back the Tamagotchi for the nostalgic feelings. Great comeback!

11 Things To Be Thankful For

Thanksgiving is coming up. Often, it’s easy to forget what we have and take things for granted. I believe that we shouldn’t give thanks and feel happy for what we one day of the entire year. Instead, I think it should be an everyday thought…

But for holiday cheers, here a few items on my list that I am thankful for.

  1. Parents
    • I love my parents! They have always been my support and my go to! Despite how much trouble I have given them, they give me their unconditional love. I wouldn’t be who and where I am without them.
  2. Shelter
    • I’m happy that I have a home to live in with working electricity and water. I feel like many times, we take having a roof over our heads for granted, but I truly am grateful.
  3. Health
    • I really appreciate my health. Without that I would have restrains on my physical, mental, financial and social well-being.
  4. Sunshine
    • I love sunshine 🙂 It makes my day brighter
  5. My Pets
    • My pets enhance my life. I can’t express how much they brighten my day after work or when I feel like I’m at my lowest.  We have a very special bond…They are truly my best friend (s).
  6. Clean Water
    • Clean water – something we use each day, but taken for granted. I love clean drinking water!
  7. My Job
    • Sometimes I dread waking up in the early morning, but I am thankful that I have a job to wake up to.
  8. Freedom
    • This includes having that freedom think and act as I please (in a morally humane manner).
  9. Warm Clothes
    • I’m thankful I have warm clothes to keep me safe and warm.
  10. Life
    • Cliche – but I love feeling alive.

My First Month Blogging

My First Month Blogging: What I Learned, What I Should Have Done

I pretty much dived into blogging without any experience. Prior to creating my blog, I spent a few days reading many start-up blogs and tutorial guides to get started. I figured the best way to learn is to get my hands dirty. It’s been one month since the start up of my blog.

About Page

Hey!  – You know how in everything – most- blogs, authors write about themselves? Here’s my snippet:

My name is Alice.

  1. I grew up in a small town in Minnesota. My fondest memories were in that state. Growing up, I remember weekend fishing trips, ice cream in our main street, and my dad shoveling snow taller than me just so that we can leave our driveway! As much as I loved my home state, the weather was extremely cold for my family and I to tolerate!
  2. I now reside in the West coast of the U.S.
  3. I am happily married to a handsome man. We have 3 four legged furry children and two birds. (Though, I would like to add a bunny to our family!)
  4. I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, playing Animal Crossing, and cuddling with my dogs.
  5. One of my goals for the next year is to compete in a 5k race.
